Poker: Financial results for July 2012

financialChart

Plan

My monthly targets are:
- Play 600 hands of cash on NLHE $0.50 Full Ring, 700 cash hands on PLO $0.50 6-max, all with target of breaking even
- Play 20 NLHE STT hoping for +10% ROI

Monitor

Overall results for the month:-

Pokerstars      :  +$  35.28
Black Belt Poker:  -$  89.18 (-£58.26)
Live play       :  -£  40.00

July was disjointed again, with Holidays and hectic days at work impacting my Poker schedule so I didn't play as much as I would have liked.....

On PokerStars I didn't even manage any STT, but had another quick session of Budugi but dropped $6.25  I'm not sure I'm that excited by Budugi as a game, so probably won't bother again.    The bulk of my play as always was 8 Game cash...  6 sessions of $2 saw a profit of $41.53 which puts me back on track

Rolling 3 month total for 8 game cash is -$118.05, due to the heavy loss in June :(

8 Game wins/losses by game type for July:
2-7        -37.53
Limit HE   - 2.04
Omaha HL    20.83
Razz       -25.82
Stud         5.97
Stud HL    -55.67
NL HE       23.55
PLO        112.24

My 2-7 was a bit surprising, but overall happy with this game... Stud HL is a real weak area though, so must improve there.

Live Play was just the normal trip for the £40 entry game, and didn't cash.  Felt I played well, despite feeling quite tired and almost falling asleep half way through !

BBP results break down as follows:

Cash results (+£ 2.88 overall)
NL Hold' em ($0.10)   74 hands    +£7.59
NL Hold' em ($0.50)  530 hands   +£12.87
PLO         ($0.50)  412 hands    +£5.23
PLO8        ($0.20)  100 hands   -£22.81

Tournament Results (-£61.14 profit overall)

2x  MTT           -£24.73
1x   2 seat STT   +£ 6.04
4x   6 seat STT   +£ 1.50
8x  10 seat STT   -£43.95

Reflect

I'm fairly happy with my 8 game, but still got a lot of work to do on some areas.

For my BBP efforts, the MTT expense was mainly my attempt to qualify for Notts Live, which I failed to do via the satalittes, but have already bought in directly anyway.   The NLHE $0.10 was a first attempt at Speed Poker.  It was OK, but was tricky to keep concentration and not sure I've got a good strategy.  Overall, it was fun, but not sure I would want to do that very regularly.... made me dizzy :)

My other results are pretty OK, with the exception of the PLO8 but that was 2 bad hands to drop about 1.5 buy-ins.  Still need to work on that game to get better consistancy.

Adjust

I need to spend time studying Stud HL and Omaha HL in August, but the main event will be the BBP Live in Nottingham :)  I am playing the Friday, having a rest day on the Saturday (happens to be my aniversary as well !)  then hope to be playing on the Sunday as well.

Other than that, will try to get back to my normal routine and get some more volume in

Performance against 2012 targets

* Keep to my revised Poker Plan
Didn't quite achieve all the numbers for Cash games in July, due to fragmentation

* Play BBP London Live and UKIPT Brighton tournaments
Looking forward to the BBP Live event at DTD :).

* Aim for break even month on month on all cash tables
NLHE near enough, PLO near enough, PLO8 inconsistant!

* Use learning tools and resources to learn and improve my NLHE, Omaha and PLO8 cash and tournament play
Am putting in the effort to do some learning.

* Avoid entering any BBP grading process !
Managed it this month :)

* Win a BBP league :-)
New league this week, but will have to sit out :(   Might miss quite a few now, but fingers crossed....
